reality

Over the past year I have received a few emails that made think about sharing some pics here. Assumptions have been made that I work in a studio or office. And as much as I wish this were true. It's not the case. In the corner of my home is a very old fold down writing desk. Made many, many years ago by my grandfather and given to me by my grandmother when she moved to a nursing home. It weighs a tonne and my father declared that he will never move it again (I live down a hill and have many stairs). I love it. But now I'm totally off track...
I dream of a studio. I sketch, I save and I hope that one day a miracle will happen and my house grows a studio. Until then, it all happens here. In the corner. And across the room is another corner. And in my wardrobe is a shelf. In my son's room is another shelf (or two). The fabrics come into the house, they get packed and then sent out again.
Someday I hope to reclaim this house.

Down a "hill" and "many" stairs seems like an understatement somehow :-) I love your current "studio", my grandfather was also brilliant with his hands but unfortunately my grandmother got rid of everything in their house when she moved and it's all gone. Yours is a beautiful piece of furniture.

WOW!!! Just goes to show you don't need a well equipped and spacious studio in order to create gorgeous designs - altho we'd all love a dedicated craft space.

Dying to see the paisley design!

Kelly :-)

I can totally relate. I have pieces of furniture in virtually every room that house art materials full of potential and projects in various states of completion. Gloria

KD, You seem really organised! My clutter is taking over the house and I have the luxury of a dedicated sewing room - there is just so much stuff.
I love your fold down desk!

Glad to see someone else has rolls of fabric just leaning up against a wall :-) (Mine are in my bedroom!)
That said you look very neat and organised!

A lovely space, regardless - and you create such lovely things in it. Nice to see someone else in a corner with her laptop!!

If you can do all that from corners of a room, imagine what you could do from a studio!!!

Love your stuff and hope to find the right Mookah project for your fabrics soon....
