homework

We are stepping it up a bit around here. Homework is getting done well before it's due (to alleviate the last minute dramas). And we are aiming for A+. Not sure how sustainable this effort is. But it's been surprisingly fun so far thanks to teachers with insight into how boys like to learn.

shibori

WOW. I loved the shibori workshop run at Koskela by the super talented and lovely Shibori Textiles girls. I need to do some more of this! I took along with me 2 metres of organic white cotton and later turned it into a dress. My new favourite dress.

sweet little heart

I have been very happy to help my lovely intern finish her Uni degree by working with me in the studio this past month. Her smiling face and easy attitude has made working together a breeze. I had set her a task to design a series of embroideries for kids and this is the very first one. These have been digitally printed locally in full colour on ethically sourced cotton/hemp. The kit includes thread, instructions and needle. Everything a little one needs to start on a easy and satisfying project that will kick off a never-ending love of all things craft.

A huge thanks to my crafty model. She is my inspiration when it come to craft for little ones. Her excitement and can do attitude is infectious.

Available in the shop here.

this friday

My new painted reclaimed timber houses

I will be bringing some new dotty giraffes

I have chosen not to do many markets this year. My boys have needed me to be around. And I've been able to focus a bit more on wholesale with a new partnership. The Designers Agency. I also have a new part-time job at Lilly & Lolly. It's a position I LOVE, with a group of people that make turning up to work, not work at all. Such a blessing.

So, when I do a market... it's gotta be a good one. And this one definitely is. Run by the amazing Mel. It is fun, quick and full of great stalls.

slippers

I made a pair of these slippers earlier in the year. I LOVE them. And happily wear them around the house most days. When they are too dirty, I throw them in the wash. I've decided to share the process of sewing the slippers in my Studio next week. Bookings will open on Wednesday. So put Nov 1st in your diary and check back in a few days to secure a place at the retreat.
The other photo... random shot of myself and one of the boys on holidays recently (very windy day).

It's on again this weekend, in the beautiful seaside town of Scarborough. I will have my products there for sale.

sleepy foxes

Here's my new little sleepy fox. My first print run is in pink/orange. My second might be a little different. I'm thinking copper and metallic blue. We will have to see if the printer will be on board with that!

Can you see that photo behind? A print by my very clever friend, Alison. You can purchase her prints here.

New exciting news for shop owners: if you would like to purchase my sewn goods wholesale... you can do so here at The Designers Agency. Contact Jennie and she will help you out!
