craft group

Roughly once a month we manage to pull off a craft group and it's always great. Though missing this girl since she started back at work.

stitching slowly

My holiday embroidery in black and grey sits in its hoop and waits hopefully for me to pick it up. But catching up on work and getting 2 kids ready for school each day means it's not at the top of the list right now. Life has gone from the leisurely pace of holidays to the faster pace of school and work and I'm tired already!

bags

Once a week I pack the boy's clothes and shoes into two bags and they spend the night with their Dad (and his mystery girlfriend that I have never met). It was time to update the old overnight bags and the fang monster print seemed the obvious choice. At first I was going to go the easy option and order a sewing pattern, but I decided to let the size of the panel determine the shape of the bag. So I made it up as I went along.

Better Homes & Gardens

Here's a picture of the new issue of Better Homes & Gardens featuring my 'holiday' simple backstitch cushion. Thanks again to Frankie & Swiss for helping me out on the quick turnaround digital printing. I've also done a new version in black/grey.

new

1&2: mustard and grey yarn for home.
3: greens for Isaac
4: grey/red/blue/cream for Max.

Holiday crochet projects. Some finished, some still to begin. If you have never done crochet, learn. And once you have head on over to Kate's ravelry store.
The above projects are all Kate's blanket pattern. One for our loungeroom (but larger) and the other two for little baby boys born on the other side of the world recently. A lovely place that feels like my second home. The boys and I visited back in July for a few weeks (way too short for me, but for my little homesick Jack - just enough).

holiday

Recently I was asked to submit a quick and easy hands on project for holiday crafting to a magazine. The deadline was tight, but after returning from our UK holiday I knew immediately the design I wanted to produce. The dilemma... the deadline was too tight to have my designs screen printed. I'm passionate about screen printed fabrics. I love their richness in colour and texture. But am glad that this fabulous company gave me the support and opportunity to provide a digital design to the magazine that I would have otherwise missed out on.
You can purchase the kit here. A first in a series of houses in Old Town, Swindon, UK. And again, a huge thanks to Michelle and Jacqui of Frankie & Swiss for their fantastic customer service.
