Another market is on this weekend. My local school. It was washed out last time, so hoping this one will go ahead. It's time for doll stuffing and owl brooch making. A good distraction from my life today. I made a big mistake last night. I spent time with someone who doesn't think very highly of me and engaged in a lengthy conversation that has knocked me about emotionally. Spending a day kicking myself and hoping tomorrow will be better. A morning of crafting with some friends stopped me from wallowing in self pity! Thankful for craft and good friends that can fill the morning with uplifting conversations.
Today included a trip to the printer, a visit to my parent's place and then a tiny bit of sewing with an old favourite print (mollybirds).
This morning.
Thud. A new book arrived on the doorstep.
Quiet. One small child hoping to stay home from school by busying himself with lego. No chance, buddy (but nice work!).
A new print. Sticky taped to the wall for glancing at and critiquing throughout the day.
Flowers. Popping up everywhere in my garden letting me know it's spring tomorrow!
There never seems to be enough time to actually sit and design. So today all was put aside to work on a new idea that has been brewing.
Another version of 'dress N'. Because once I find a pattern that fits I usually sew it over and over.
New boots. Because shopping for a few hours for boots is a good distraction with your Dad when your Mum is having major surgery (she's doing OK).

New mustard and chocolate drawstring waist dress. The pattern is from my favourite Japanese sewing book: Stylish Dress Book. As per usual I have changed a few things. No sleeves and an outside casing with web tape at the waist. And as it's still winter here, I'll be wearing it with black tights and a cardi!
