ikea
I love ikea. I love my new cupboard. Sitting right at the back door, hiding my bin in the bottom shelf, but showing off more interesting things above. Keeping school notes all in one place. Games boxes now within reach for the six year old. Blankets all in a pile. And best of all my sewing machine & overlocker now have a home. No longer on the floor!

reality
Over the past year I have received a few emails that made think about sharing some pics here. Assumptions have been made that I work in a studio or office. And as much as I wish this were true. It's not the case. In the corner of my home is a very old fold down writing desk. Made many, many years ago by my grandfather and given to me by my grandmother when she moved to a nursing home. It weighs a tonne and my father declared that he will never move it again (I live down a hill and have many stairs). I love it. But now I'm totally off track...
I dream of a studio. I sketch, I save and I hope that one day a miracle will happen and my house grows a studio. Until then, it all happens here. In the corner. And across the room is another corner. And in my wardrobe is a shelf. In my son's room is another shelf (or two). The fabrics come into the house, they get packed and then sent out again.
Someday I hope to reclaim this house.

finished
Another part of the 'sampler border' design to be printed on organic cotton (white) and Hemp/Organic Cotton (natural). I'm also working on some wide cotton sewing tape to match!

back on track
Well, things are back on track for my original cross stitch fabric border print idea. Here's just a small part. I need to add in some more images - trees, maybe a house, that kind of thing. Exactly as I had imagined, not wavering a bit this time around. Though looking at the paisley border I had recently designed... I like it more and more. So maybe I just bite the bullet and print both.

homespun
Here's the latest edition of Australian Homespun. Catherine (the lovely editor) has included my products on not one, but two pages. Thanks! This is the cover and one of the pages. I'll leave it to you to find the other.
Truth be told, I have pdf's of these 2 pages and not the other. My camera is not talking to my computer. They had a fight and have not made up. Don't think they ever will. So I have to wait until my birthday (April) for a new one. To get a photo onto my computer is a bit of a drawn out process that includes my old laptop and a USB stick. That's the long story of why I haven't taken a pic of the other page. Mystery solved.
