Truth be told, I have pdf's of these 2 pages and not the other. My camera is not talking to my computer. They had a fight and have not made up. Don't think they ever will. So I have to wait until my birthday (April) for a new one. To get a photo onto my computer is a bit of a drawn out process that includes my old laptop and a USB stick. That's the long story of why I haven't taken a pic of the other page. Mystery solved.
Sometimes things don't go to plan. I'd grown this design to it's full size and it wasn't sitting right with me. I stayed up very late last night. I thought about it first thing this morning. The feeling of it just not being right. Not being what I originally had in mind. I like it. But the design is not what I had intended.
The original idea and inspiration for this was to be french linen. Lovely rough edged linen with red stripes and maybe fine cross stitch detail (like in samplers). I really got off the track with this one. There is no rustic feel at all!
Luckily I have a blog! And with blogs come other opportunities. A tea towel swap is in the works, organised by this crafty gal and now I know exactly where this design will work perfectly. (And I'll also print up a few panels for those wanting to turn it into something other than a tea towel and pop them in my shop).
What do you do the night before your kids go back to school? Sit up late on the computer. Won't I look stunning with black circles under my eyes when I drop the kids off tomorrow? When the desire to work on a project hits, I figure you just have to go with it. This is the same design I have been 'watering' for a while. As well as the red colourway, something on black cotton/linen takes my fancy.
This design is like my garden. I water it a bit and watch it grow each day. Well, this design doesn't get watered everyday. Hence, it's taking a little longer to complete. So here's a small progress pic.

I think it's time I blog more. Maybe if I say it out loud, I'll actually do it.
A huge thanks to Kate for the article she wrote about my designs in the January edition of Sewing World (available UK & US). I was so excited when my copy arrived I almost showed the people behind the counter at the Post Office... almost.
Currently working on a border print. Here's a very small part. Hours of work on this one before it's good to go!
